On-tap at the source itself in Goleta, CA. On to the beer:
A color which is darker than yellow adorns unside the glass. It has a clean body, and dots the glass with spotty lace. The nose has a good dose of bananas and a kiss of citrus, leaving open the question how they managed to leave the former alone while removing the yeast.
That banana note from the aroma is not shy to show up. It continues into the taste and is the leading flavor, though not crazy intense as it can get in a hefeweizen. Ground clove follows up. The malted wheat base, lemon bars, and kiss of booze are among the littler notes to have an impact on the final say. It's light bodied, with a moderate level of carbonation.
This is a good kristalweiss. Good lunchtime pick without being too fruity.

The pour is a clear golden color with a white head. Huge clove aroma, some light bubblegum and banana, and a hint of cotton candy. Plenty of wheat and bread malt character. Moderate sweetness on the palate with plenty of clove, a decent bubblegum and banana character, and some light citrus notes. As with the aroma, good bread malt notes. Decent enough, but nothing really mind blowing.

Sampled 11/23/2010 at the brewpub.
Pours very clear yellow with lots of bubbles producing white head with low amounts of retention or lacing.
Aroma is banana, grapes, malt, and German hops, but a little heavy on the grassy aroma.
Flavor is quite nice. Banana/Hefe meets and balances a Kölsch quality. Kind of sweet but still bitter and dry enough to enjoy the BA approved anti-ticker serving size of 32oz.
Body is light(ish) and very drinkable. Would drink again.
