A refreshingly tart wheat beer brewed with wheat and pilsner malts. Gently flavored with coriander and a small addition of salt.

A:Sharp sourness with slight off-notes, lightly lemony and salty.

A:Light golden color, slightly hazy, with a thin head that quickly forms a ring around the glass.

T: Sharp sourness that’s a bit harsh, with light malt, coupled with a lemony flavor, and faint saltiness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: Try again; this beer’s lacto had some off-notes that make it difficult to drink.

64 oz swingtop bottle into a chalice.

light golden color with a slight head. smell of salt, coriander, and malts. taste starts out quite salty and tart, and finishes with a lasting wheaty, saltines. its in the upper echelon of goses...saltier than most. mouthfeel is light and refreshing.

overall extremely high drinkability, worth getting a growler!

Tiny Bubbles isn't the best looking beer - fairly low carb, bright yellow, small ring of white head that quickly dissipates. However, the smell and taste are much better: lots of lactic tartness but not overdone, and nice salt/coriander in the background. At first I thought it was a little intense for a gose but I got through my pour quickly and wanted more. Great for a hot day. Overall a nice gose, now I need to try more of this style.

Served on-draught into Verdugo branded stemware at Verdugo Bar's anniversary event in Silverlake some months ago. Reviewed from notes. Due to the nature of the event (standing room only; crowded) I wasn't able to go into as much depth as I would have liked; please forgive the truncated review below.

A: No bubble show forms as it's poured.

Pours a 1.5 finger wide head of white colour. Head retention is poor - about 30 seconds. Body is a very dull murky copper. Looks pretty awful, to be honest.

Sm: Lemon zest. Floral hops. A very light hint of salt. Clean malts. Light tart sourness. A mild strength aroma. No real biscuity yeasty character.

T: Nice lactic tart sourness. Body is comprised of clean malts, light wheat, and barley. No real salt comes through. Well balanced, if simple. I do like it. Has a nice subtlety to it.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Lightly refreshing. Decent thickness. Pretty good body. Suits the flavour profile well.

Dr: Drinkable and enjoyable. It's a nice simple gose. I'd get it again. Quite nice for the style, but not fantastic or world class. I'm glad I got the chance to try it. I might recommend it to friends; one of the better beers I've so far in the style.

On-tap at the brewpub.

A: Served a lightly hazy golden body with one inch of bright white head that faded to collar.
S: Light and crisp notes of green apple, golden fruits, stone fruits and dry grains.
T: Follows the nose with hints of apricot, peach, white grape, wheat, lemon and minerals. Clean wheat finish with a crisp lactic bite in the aftertaste.
M: Very crisp, dry, and refreshing mouthfeel, medium-light body, fizzy scrubbing carbonation, sharp acid bite.
O: Mild flavors overall with the lactic acid dominating. Similar to a Berliner Weiss. Very quaffable.

From growler to flute glass

A unique and refreshing brew that's all the buzz here in San Diego after the amazing 2013 Firestone Walker festival, Toronado SD specifically mentioned this beer in their mailer. I stopped by Hollister brewing on the drive back from the fest, decided to try a flight of samples, this was by far the most impressive.

Pours a fleshy pink in appearance, with effervescing bubbles forming almost no head. Notes of apple and pear and tart berries form the bouquet, with a lingering cracker-y envelope. The flavors are more puckering than expected, keeping the sweet fruity aspects in check. Apples and berries are distinct, with notes of crisp lemon citrus anchoring the flavor profile. The tart aspects lead to a short, dry finish.

This beer is remarkably dry and refreshing. Even with what seems like a new brewery popping up on every corner around here (most of which are sub-par, I'm getting pretty jaded), I haven't tasted anything quite like this. Hope to see it again.

On tap at Hollister Brewing Company in Goleta, CA.

Pours a murky light yellow with a foamy white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is sour and tart with malt, wheat, and coriander aromas. Taste is much the same with sour and slightly salty flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is easy to drink and refreshing.
