On tap at the source.

A: Pours clear golden yellow with a thin quarter-inch white head which yields sheet lace and sem-rings and splotches.

N: Fresh sage, spices, herbs, and slight floral sweetness.

T: Green herbs, white sage bite, hint of honey, malt backbone. Without the sage, this would be a pale ale.

M: Medium body and carbonation. Finishes with herbal sage.

O: Decent, but nothing amazing and the sage tends to dominate and create fatigue after half a glass.

On tap at Hollister Brewing Company in Goleta, CA.

Pours a clear gold with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and sage aromas. Taste is much the same with sage and citrus flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of herbal bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is interesting but unrefined.
