Copenhagen 11/1 2019. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh Ø. Guy hugging a Rattlesnake microphone on the label.
Pours murky dark Maroon with a red hue. Small white head. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable to completely cover the surface of the beer. Very Moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweet, boozy and notable oaky. Sugary sweet, malty caramel. Strong notes of Vanilla. Brown sugar. Pleasantly sweet, boozy notes.
Low carbonation. Thick, oily, soft texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet followed by a medium bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and sugary. Lingering vanilla. Alcoholic boozy burn.
If you are into sweet strong beer where you actually notice the ABV, this might be for you.

Powerful beer with sharp and distinct taste notes. The bitterness hits you straight in the face and lingers for quite some time. Definitely a sipping beer, but a rather intriguing one at that. Otherwise there is some figs, plums, raisins, and leather

Pours a dark reddish brown with fine, soft foam.
Smell is fruity with notes of dark bread, plums, raisins and brown sugar.
Taste is strong and a bit sweet, but with a pretty powerful bitterness doing the rounds. Notes of sultanas, leather, oak and vanilla, pretty raw and rough around the edges.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a good barley wine that could probably do with some cellaring to smooth it out.
