Copenhagen 4/10 2019. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Drawing of the infamous Sarah Bernard surrounded by flying cakes on the label.
Pours opaque, very dark brown with a very small beige head. Disappears fairly fast leaving only meager remnants behind.
Aroma is intense, heavy sweet, cake-like and laced with chocolate and cocoa. Sweet milk chocolate, vanilla, nuts, toffee, coconut, candy, lactose, caramel.
Light carbonation. Thick, viscous, smooth, soft, sticky, fat texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet. On the verge of being cloying but a medium strong bitterness saves the day. Aftertaste is sweet with a liquor-like, boozy burn. Lingering.
Fine take on a Dessert beer. Very sweet but not without balance. And in this case I can have my cake and eat it too.
