Copenhagen 16/5 2020. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé. Simon Daugaard's rendering of master builder Lambert Van Haven as a hipster on the label.
Pours unclear - almost hazy - golden yellow with a small white head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a subdued odor of sweet exotic fruit and malts and stronger citric, sharp, acerbic notes. Peach and papaya. Light caramel. Grape fruit and citrus concentrate.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with medium strong sweetness followed by a strong, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and acerbic. Lingers for a while. Finish is bone-dry.
Pretty aggressive IPA with a sharp bitter bite and a scorching dryness. I am quite sure that poor, old Lambert's old ale did not taste like this.
