Copenhagen 20/4 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Photo of a lot of grainy and hoppy ingredients on the label. What you get is what you see.

Pours slightly hazy reddish amber with yellowish head. Settles as thin creamy layer of foam. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is dominated by strong citric odors. Grape fruit and citrus. Underlying sweetness with exotic notes, resin and pine. Some fermentation in there as well.

Light carbonation and medium thick palate.

The flavor lives up to the description on the label: Bitter like hell. Light sweetness followed by heavy bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with dry finish.

Nice dry and very bitter IPA.

Tall, creamy and ivory foam. 3 fingers tall, persisting and leaving an excellent lacing. Copper hazy. Fruity aroma of hops, some light malty notes. High level of hops flavor. High bitterness. Medium, malty sweetness. Medium body, oily, smooth, moderate carbonation. Very long, very intense bitter finish but not overwhelming. It is a Red IPA, IMO.

Delicious

From Cervezalandia. In Teku glass. Playing Shadows of the Vatican Act 1. Very bitter, oily and dry, with notes that remind a brown ale. Fine, but I miss a bit more fruityness and refreshingnes

Pours clear, pour dark amber, with a fluffy light beige head that recedes slowly.
Sweet fruit on the nose, like tangerine, pineapple syrup, mango, peach, a bit of blood orange and grapefruit pith too. Biscuit, caramel, some hop resin, "wet" herbal notes.
Aggressive from the start, with bitter hop oils, giving off lots of grapefruit and lemon peel, dried pine, grass. Toasted malts too, grainy, adding to the harsh start. Mellows a bit with some caramel, revealing a bit of sweet orange, peach and some faint tropical notes, but just a for a bit. Dried up bitter finish, cancelling every little flavor from before.
Aftertaste is simply bitter, rough hops and pine, not much else. Some dry malt maybe. Medium body, more than prickly carbonation.
Just too rough, covering up all the nice different hop flavors. Perfect if you like your IPAs extra-dry and bitterness stuck down your throat for a really long time. Not for me, this one.

Best before January 2015, batch 559. Not too sure this is a fresh bottle or one from last year.

An amber beer with a big off-white head. Tiny bubbles and good lacing.

Smells nice, lots of fruity hops in here. Not very malty beer like the De Molen Amarillo, just a hop forward beer I guess from the smell.

I can't help but think this is an old bottle or something. It tastes pretty bitter but it is very much lacking in fruitiness. It could also be because I had some really big beers of late, yesterday had a barleywine dryhopped with cascade...

If it was indeed brewed last January it would still be a little older than you would want it to be. I guess this is the case as the aroma is still quite hoppy.

There is too little malt of fruitness to balance out the bitterness if you ask me. If you drink it cold it is pretty refreshing and all that.

A very dry beer.

All in all I would have liked a little more hops but I should have had this a month or two freshers prehaps.

Stepping to this after those big delicious beers that I had is like stepping back from a thick RIS to a 5% stout, it just tastes bland. Not because it is neccesarily bland but because you are used to big flavours.

Mouthfeel is medium, very dry and the carbonation is low to medium.

Overall a good bitter IPA but I would prefer a little more fruitness. But that could be because it is too old, just try it for yourself!

The colour is red-brown (35 EBC), the liquid clear. The two finger head is pale brown, it sinks very slowly leaving lote of lacing.

The smell is sweet and very fruity. Lots of exotic fruits like bananas, apricots, pineapples and tangerines. Somewhat roasted caramel malt flavours. Some clean bitterness in the background.

The taste is bitter with a solid malt-caramel background. Lots of ripe fruits: Red apples, oranges, grapefruits and fresh pineapples. The aftertaste is hoppy and alcoholic with some resin, white orange peel, biter oranges, apricots. Somewhat dry bitter growing flavours. The finish is bitter-sweet and a bit raw, almost harsh. But just almost.

The carbonation is medium to mild, the small bubbles fresh. The liquid is smooth, almost a bit sticky.

A pleasant west-coast IPA with a fine malt base.

A: The color is clear dark copper, while the large off-white head is compact and creamy. Dissipation takes quite some time, and the result is rich lacings.

S: Slightly roasted caramell malt, somewhat sweet. Rich in bitter hops, but even more so in floral (American stylee); tropical fruits galore. Pineapple, grapefruit and lemons. Nettles and fresh cut grass in the back. Some oranges as well.

T: Almost like a brown ale, when it comes to the malts; buttery and dark: feels quite English actually - semi sweet. But then the American hops kicks in, bitter and floral! The floral is a bit held back compared to the smell, but all the tropical fruits are there, only tuned down a notch.

M: The bitterness in the aftertaste will probably be there in the morning, man that's great. Body is medium to full, while carboantion is on the lower side.

O: This is a very interesting AIPA, I wish they'd put more floral hops in it - close to perfection in that case?

A: A dark red, almost brown and hazy liquid is poured into the glass. The head is yellow to white and about two fingers high. The head is also very uneven and leaves a lot of lacings on the glass. My guess is that the beer had been clearer if I would have given it the time to clear the sediments after having lied down during a shaky ride in a car.

S: Smells like a West Coast IPA should. I can find pine, grapefruit, lime and strawberries. The strawberries are actually one of the dominant smells. There is some damp leaves at the end.

T: It tastes a lot of strawberries at first. Then some pine, grapefruit and red grapefruits. The aftertaste tastes like grape peel and is very dry. The aftertaste stays long.

M: Medium to full bodied with large carbonation bubbles. The mouthfeel is very soft and round. Delicate!

O: It is a well balanced IPA which I recommend to try.

The beer is clear dark amber, almost chestnut, a warm yellow off-white high head that settles slowly and leaves much lacing.

The smell is forest, pine, resin, hay, nettles, but also some squashed grape-fruit.

Starting with toffee, brown bread, then grapefruit juice and peel. A pine soap residue.

Medium low carbonation, soft and oily, a good body and dry finish.

In all a very good westcoast IPA.
