Copenhagen 13/8 2023. 44 cl can from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Cartoon-like drawing of Biggles look-a-like on the can.
Pours opaque, dark brown with huge light beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet, roasted, male odor mingling with an earthy scent. Dark roasted malts. Seared caramel and toffee. Humid soil, tobacco and leather. Dark chocolate and licorice.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, slightly viscous, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Smooth, bitter and quite dry.
