Copenhagen 21/5 2021. 75 cl capped and waxed bottle from Østerbro Vin & Spiritus (formerly known as Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel). Simon Daugaard drawing of the notorious Hoodoo Brown in a ghostly, green light on the label.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small, bubbly, off-white head. Disappears after a few seconds. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a strong sweet, sugary odor mingling with dark alcohol. Caramel and toffee. Raisins. Syrup. Sweet bourbon. Sharp, alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, a bit greasy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sugary sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is immensely sweet with a boozy undertone. Lingering. Finish is a sweet and boozy bonanza.
Satisfying brew which reminds me more of a Barley wine than an Imperial Stout. Impressive ABV - and it does not try to hide it.
