Cardamom - the exotic and absolutely delicious spice with such a sophisticated and enticing aroma that we Danes often use in connection with Christmas baking of æbleskiver, klejner and other Christmas cookies is perhaps not something you think should be in beer - and at the same time, the Swedes throw this very spice into everything, all year round.

Cardamom For Christmas will definitely be a beer that separates the goats from the sheep, as (and they have warned you) there are ample amounts of cardamom notes along with burnt, slightly smoky malt notes.

One thing is for sure - the Swedes can understand this beer! ... Can you?

Copenhagen 7/1 2023. 44 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Bearded fellow with a turban squandering spice on the can.

Pours opaque, dark brown with a mid-sized light beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as 0,2 cm thick layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with Christmas spices. Dark roasted malts, brown sugar. Cardamom in abundance, touch of cinnamon and vanilla. Whiff of citrus.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling, soft texture.

Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with sourish undertone.Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.

More Christmas spice than anything else. But what else should I expect of a beer called Cardamon for Christmas?|
