Copenhagen 20/5 2020. 75 cl waxed bottle from Best of Beers web-shop. The wax seems to be some very tough and generously applied plastic coating. Cartoonish, well-made drawing of Pearl Hart and her double-barreled on the label.
Pours slightly unclear, mahogany with a red hue and a small off-white, yellow-ish head. Settles as thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense, dark, sweet and with a prominent presence of alcohol. Brown sugar, mulled wine, honey, light odor of peat. Whisky and alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, yet tingling texture.
Flavor is intense and heavy, sugary, sweet followed by a boozy, and lighter sourness. Aftertaste is sugary and very sweet. Dessert wine-like. Finish is with a notable boozy burn.
Satisfying, potent, strong and very sweet rye wine. And it carries a solid ABV.
