Copenhagen 1/5 2020. 75 cl waxed and capped bottle from Best of Beers web-shop. Actually the wax seems to some annoying plastic coating generously applied. Simon Daugaard drawing of sneaky looking, slightly stereotypical Mexican on the label.
Pours opaque dark brown with a medium-sized lightly beige head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet, caramelized odor mingling with a sweet boozy one. Caramel, brown sugar. Sweet whisky. Light sourish grains peeking in. Licorice, peat and bitter dark chocolate rummaging in the background.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a prominent presence of alcohol. Lightly boozy, sweet finish.
From the sweet and boozy part of town but it certainly packs a punch.
