A charity beer supporting Australian Wildlife.
Bitter is the rain that never fell. Bitter is the rain that fell too late. And bitter is the rain that will eventually fall, risking to create washouts in the Australian bush devoid of vegetation after being completely scorched by the devastating wildfires that have been roaring all around Australia for months and months. Everyone who knows Amager Bryghus from social media also knows that we are an animal friendly brewery. Some may even claim that we prefer animals to people, and they are not completely wrong. When we heard the news that up to 1 billion Australian animals were affected by the fires, the scale of this disaster suddenly dawned on us. We felt we had to do something. , and since we are a brewery, beer is what we do best. Hence Bitter Rain was born – an Australian-style IPA.
When you buy this beer, either bottled or as draught, you will support wildlife in Australia. Amager Bryghus will donate proceeds from the sales to one or more Australian animal rescue organizations working to restore the wildlife population suffering from the bushfires.

Copenhagen 14/4 2020. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Drawing of sad Koala bears on fire on the label.
Pours hazy, milky, golden yellow with a small white head. Settles as thin, flimsy patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet fermented odor of exotic fruit and - Amagers trademark - a solid citric smell. Mango and peach. Armsweat. Grape fruit and lime.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily and bit flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a strong bitterness. Aftertaste is citric and bitter. Lingering. Finish is dry and austere.
Dry as a forest fire - and bitter indeed. Good for a beer but bad for the wildlife.
