On tap at the Maui Brewing Company Brewpub in Lahaina, HI.
This is Maui Brewing Company's take on Arrogant Bastard. Brewed with the same Stone recipe using Maui water.
Pours a clear dark orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, brown sugar, citrus zest, grapefruit juice, pine needle, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, citrus zest, pine needle, and earthy hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is a nice rendition of the original Arrogant Bastard.
Serving type: on tap.
