I admit it's been about 1 year since I had this brew in the Lahaina venue. I had just finished a Imperial Coconut Porter and ordered the Skull Island Stout to try it. From my notes, the Stout was tasty and dark but seemed thin and I went back to the Porter.

Fantastic Imperial Stout! Notes of root beer (sarsparilla), no coffee tones at all. Crisp, intense and elegant on the palate. Minimal head. Overall both a "chick beer" and man's beer as well. Highly recommended!

Very dark appearance with some head and the right amount of carbonation. Very high alcohol content but the taste does not reflect it. Smell and taste are certainly great for a nice stout.
