Very dark appearance with nice tan head that dissipates eventually. Malt aroma. Taste is a pleasant malt that is slightly bitter with a nice solid feel.

On tap at Maui Brewing Company in Kihei, HI.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Thick swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, and roasted nut aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, roasted nut, char, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer that is super tasty and easy to drink.

Tasted at Maui Brewing Co. Brewpub, poured from nitro-tap into American pint glass. Pours basically black with a thick, creamy off-white head that lasts throughout the pint. Leaves a moderate amount of lacing. Sweet malty taste and aroma that gives way to a stronger roasted quality. Little thin on mouthfeel but a very tasty beer.

Tried on tap at the brewpub, and then after dinner we ordered a Wild Hog Stout float (a glass of this beer with vanilla ice cream). The virgin Wild Hog had a dark color, slightly burnt malt aroma and flavor, and an easy drinkability. Kind of a session stout, reminiscent of Rogue Shakespear Stout.
With the ice cream added, this turned exceptional. It was so much better than you'd think, you owe it to yourself to try it as a float if you get the chance

I had this beer on tap at the brewery while I was on vacation there. It pours Jet black with a healthy mocha head. There is a very strong burnt "fire pit" aroma with roasted and chocolate hints. The flavor is dominated by heavy roasted barley and chocolate tastes. It is exceptionally smooth and finishes fairly sweet. I like this beer a lot and has excellent drinkability.

Made by Maui Brewing Company and served at this nice brewpub in Kahana [West Maui]. 45 IBU.
Pours a nice black with a creamy brown head [nitro tap helps]. Smell of roasted coffee.
Tastes of bitter chocolate and dark roasted coffee. A little less flavor than some stouts, but quite nice.
Mouthfeel was very nice and light. Overall, a decent stout addition by this impressive brewery that I never new existed until I came over here. Well worth a try [the brewpub is impressive].
