Upfront taste is Belgian barleywine/old ale then toffee and dark fruits followed by chocolate and a lingering light coconut aftertaste. It is, however, rather sweet and if you like that this will please.

This one pours a golden dark brown color, with a small head, and notm uch lacing.
This smells like toasted coconut, spiced cocoa powder, toasted nuts, caramel, oak, bourbon, brandy, and lightly fruity esters.
The coconut from the Imperial Coconut Porter still comes through strongly here, even with being "diluted" by the other beers in the blend. The barleywine part also seems to be coming in strongly, with toasted malt and caramel. There's otherwise roast, oak, bourbon, vanilla, some light fruitiness (from the brandy or cognac, perhaps?).
This has such a nice warming character to it, without too much overt booziness. It's a slow and contemplative sipper. It's a little thin, but not too much so.
Maui seems to have put out some really intriguing barrel aged beers lately, and I guess I could say I'm "here for it."

Pours a dark brown color, opaque and pretty shiny. Thin finger and a half velvety brown head dissipates a bit, but ultimately lingers on top of the beer.
The aroma on this beer is absolutely stunning. Rich notes of dark stone fruits, dark bread, rum, raisins, brown sugar, oak, some light Belgian yeast notes all molding together to produce a rich decadent aroma.
Taste follows the nose with dark bread, Belgian yeast, brown sugar, dark fruits, rum, oak - there is so much going on here resulting in an incredibly complex profile. Again though - decadent is the word that comes to mind. The profile seems to be dominated by the barleywine with the rum, cognac, brandy and bourbon barrels all really playing a prominent role. The stout with its roasted malts and cocoa are more subdued. There is a decent amount of warmth to this one, but it doesn't have a discernible alcohol flavor - its really just a general warming sensation.
Which leads to the overall feel on this one. Its a bit lighter on the mouthfeel, which makes it shockingly easy to drink for such a hefty beer. Bright carbonation, with a pretty dry feel to it lingering into the finish.
This is one of those incredible beers that is just a true pleasure to savor.

Very dark appearance with slight tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a pleasant caramel and malt. Taste is also a pleasant caramel and malt with a touch of coconut.
