Wow! I can't fault this IPA. Well balanced at 6.8%., with expressive hop smoothness. My son brought some cans back from Hawaii and I really enjoyed supping on them.

The pour is similar to a glass of Minute Maid orange juice. The taste is pineapple, pear, orange, grapefruit, papaya, & an off putting medicinal note. Why do hazy IPA's leave an aftertaste in my mouth that leaves me feeling like I just chewed up an aspirin? This finish or aftertaste can become overwhelming on the palate. Moreover, I'm not complaining or bashing the New England IPA style it's okay but it's not this perfect tropical fruit juice tasting beer style that everyone claims it is, it does have it's flaws. cheers! 12 ounce can, stamp on the bottom says 011521. Thanks to my buddy Denis for giving me this one to try! Served in a Spiegelau IPA glass, the beer pours a hazy gold color with about an inch and a half white head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like orange, grapefruit, pineapple and bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some tropical fruit and pine flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, wish I would have got to try this one fresher but I didn't get this can until yesterday. Hopefully Maui Brewing will make this again at some point in the future, worth trying if you get the chance.

Overall a nice beer for the style.

From the can, it pours a hazy (surprise!) amber color with a nice white head that leaves a bit of lacing as you drink it. In the nose, it is piney and citrusy. In the mouth, it is the same, with a nice malt base.

Ah the scent makes me yearn to see the hops growing in with the Plumeria again...alas!
