Serving glass: Poured from tap into Tulip.
Appearance: Somewhat dark red with thick off white head and nice lacing lines.
Smell: Citrus hops and caramel malts.
Taste: Strong slightly sweet caramel base balanced by a nice hop bite with orange, grapefruit and pine. Ends somewhat bitter. A well balanced beer.
Feel: Moderate carbonation, full creamy body with a very dry finish.
Drinkability: Great example of a Double Red Ale. This should be canned.

Enjoyed on draft at the brewery, winter 2010. Rich amber color. Some black tea-like aromas are noted on the nose. Candy sweet on the palate which is nice, along with a nice hop snap to round it out. Rather easy drinking for such a high ABV beer, and I wish it was served in the normal pint glass!

A - Pretty, dark amber, head holds nicely and long.
S - Hops and Deep nice dark malt.
T - Gigante malt, tons of hops follow up.
M - A little too creamy for me and not enough carb bite. Seemingly flatish to my base palate. Velvety, but wanted more conflict.
D - Could get tiresome.
