Had this at the Brewpub, they had it dubbed a "dry hopped" chinwig, but still a ESA.
A- A rich reddish coffee colored brew with a light tan head. Good head retention and excellent lacing.
S- Nice hop aroma, floral in quality. A little malt background and some booze.
T- Excellent balance, the alcohol is very well maskedl. Nice cracker malt background with a sweetish flair in the finish.
M- Mouthfeel is average and unremarkable
O- Very quaffable for something over 8%, nicely balanced. Well done, try it!

On tap at Maui Brewing Company in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.
Pours a clear iced tea color with a 1 inch foamy tan head that settles to a film. Thin streaks of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is very malty, fruity, and slightly nutty with a noticeable alcohol punch. Taste is also malty and fruity with a strong alcohol kick that warms the back of the throat with each sip. A bit too much in my opinion. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but it's a bit too hot to be too enjoyable.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery, winter 2010. The beer board indicates 85 IBU's and 8.75% alcohol, but this one is very drinkable. Colour is a deep amber with thin head. Nose has an enticing toffee character. On the palate there is some warmth from the high ABV but it comes across very (pleasantly) sweet with the hops to balance. A big beer for sure, but the toffee sweetness makes it very tasty & easy to drink.
