Pours a hazy orange amber color with a quarter inch off white head that left little lacing. Smell is rather mild with some pine, malts and citrus. Taste is kind of confusing with sweet malts, honey, caramel, pine, grapefruit and grapefruit pith. Medium bodied, minimal carbonation and bitterness,

I'm from the Midwest (Chicago) and really love local IPAs from the likes of Lagunitas, Half Acre, Three Floyd's, Alter and such. And damn this is really good stuff. Really delicious hop varietal here. Sweet biscuit and bittersweet hop. Even keel brew. Nice companion with East coast salty shellfish and fried fish. Taking some home with me for sure.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Willi Becher pint glass.
L - Pours a hazy Amber color with a white head.
S - I'm not getting a lot on the smell.
T - I'm getting some caramel on this, and some sweet maltiness on the finish.
F - Feels slick with minimal carbonation.
O - Not a bad beer, but doesn't seem like an IPA.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Beaming orange amber body with excellent clarity, and nearly crystal clear. Fine lines of carbonation rising to the top, reaching to an off white easy thick three finger tall head. Creamy lacing, slight bits of pill like chunks stuck to the edge, and a nice thick looking dollop. Great looking IPA.
Hop forward but kind of funny smelling. Sugary malt bill hints of brown sugar, with a sorts of pine meets bubblegum like strangeness. Flirts a little juicy but without tropical or citrus qualities. Very odd, not sure where this palate is going.
Palate is quite a bit of a mess. A very wet body, almost like runny thin caramel syrup hits the tongue on first go. Bitter pith of rind makes quite a noticeable flavor that dominates. The beer has virtually no aftertaste at all, with a sort of weak sugary honey coating on the front of the tongue. Virtually all the senses are in the front of the mouth. The beer is surprisingly flat.
Washing, weird, weak. This is also a hop variety that just tastes weird in this style. Can says strawberry and honeydew? I don't think so. One of the few IPAs I've had where I would pass on.
