Another beer from the Single, Fresh, Wet & Wild festival. 7.3% abv for those keeping score at home.
And yet, another maltyboi from the same festival. Pours a full on amber color. Instead of pushing a pineapple laden olfactory experience, one is hit with more caramel and grapefruit.
Taste was a more diverse spectrum, in addition to the grapefruit and caramel, there were milder notes of passion fruit and pineapple, a light sweetness owing to the caramel in all likelihood. Caramel and bitterness team up together to provide the initial force the palate is met with, everything beyond that is merely a supporting role where you may find some nuance to pull more of the tropical hop flavors out. The body is kind of thick, not the most helpful when it comes to mouth feel. For me the most disappointing this about this was the lack of pineapple notes up front.
Neil Diamond looks so different when he was young. 1st review of this beer on BA + 1st to list the abv on BA = zero karma points. Rock on.
