From the waxed bomber into a Samuel Smith's perfect pint glass results in a body the color of nothing, solid black, no light enters even on the edge of the glass, a very timid small head forms of larger bubbles but soon run away in shame, uh oh this looks like black booze.
Aroma is booze, whiskey I'm guessing, bourbon? Who the Hell knows, could be rot gut moonshine but the char note and slight sweetness lead me to think it might actually be good spirits.
Taste is boilermaker heavy booze with a slap of charred wood covered in syrup. Hits the mark for spirit barreled stout but with a sledgehammer
Feels thin even though it poured like 50W oil, I don't know what to say about this unless it's all the alcohol which is front and center
Overall a nice brew that is worth buying and sharing at dinner parties.

L: Black as my hope. One finger tan head with good lacing.
S: Cocoa bomb. vanilla and oak, possibly some coconut here.
T: Of devilish chocolate cake, coffee, and otherwise follows the nose.
F: Full body. Thick and coating.
O: Best and most recent Hellshire I've tried. The additional ABV and body does wonders.

Oakshire's normal offering have been pretty 'run of the mill" for me for the most part so far, so hoping a more special offering is above the cut. Heard really good things about the hellshire series so hopefully it stands up.
L: jet black, inky liquid, pours lively with moderate carbonation and brown/beige foam.
S: Nice bourbon hit on the nose- like whiffing the inside of a barrel. boozy in a good way. There is also a sweet aroma of dark chocolate and slight roast.
T: This is amazing! Very nice bourbon character which is not hot or overwhelming, and contributes a lot of complexity to a rich but not cloying big stout. This is quite drinkable for the 12% ABV and the higher carbonation really helps I think. I pick up prune, chocolate, charr, and lots of caramel malt sweetness. Well balanced and layers upon layers of flavor. This reminds me of high westified, but maybe not quite as dessert-like or rich.
F: medium body, silky smooth texture, goes down smooth and easy. not too rich or thick.
O: This is an amazing stout and up there with some of the best. Would put this in the top ten BA stouts for sure! Look forward to future editions.

Hands down my favorite Barrel Aged Stout that I've ever had. I absolutely love this beer. I haven't had anything that i enjoy nearly as much. I'll be very sad when these run out. I save these for special occasions.
Look: Pitch black and thick thick thick. Half inch creamy tan head.
Smell: Huge chocolate, oak, bourbon, coconut, and medium roast coffee
Taste: Chocolate brownies, oaky bourbon, caramel, sweet coconut, cappuccino like coffee. Fairly sweet and fairly boozy hot. A perfect balance in my opinion and possibly the most overwhelmingly delicious dark beer I've ever tasted.
Feel: very thick. Coats the mouth with intensity and is as full bodied as they come.
Overall: Like having chocolate cake, Highland Park 12 yr scotch, and a cup of coffee all at the same time. I have only one of these left and it will be a bittersweet experience to enjoy it.
