i thought this was excellent beer overall, a wine barrel aged wild tasting saison type, with a developed sour and funk profile, almost smells like lambic, lots of white wine and wood to this, tannic and sharp with the acidity, but just full of flavor too. i always feel like oakshire never gets enough credit for their wild and sour beer, in my experience they have all been excellent, and this is no exception. bright golden lightly orange from the tap without a lot of head on it, thats really my only critique of this, is that its less carbonated than i like in the style. the malt base is a little bigger and richer than most, wheat and maybe a little crystal, not sweet at all, but crackery and flavorful. the yeast is awesome, some bretty type funk to this, not overly mature, but present and influential, and a nice lacto type acidity, nicely developed and citrusy in the finish. this tastes like white wine barrels, lots of wood and some sweet juice, even light herbal character in here, and then pretty clean in the finish for being a little bigger. an apparently very limited release, and a good one from these guys. heavy wine barrel, good pucker, more bubbles would really pop it off!
