12oz can, canned 3 months ago, probably getting close to past it’s prime.
Pours two fingers of white head into my can-style glass. Retention is pretty good, initial lacing looks nice. Body is orange juice, with a fair amount of bubbles coming up. Looks nice so far.
Nose is nice, some tropical fruits/mango mixes well with a zesty southern hemisphere hop aroma. I actually like this quite a bit, full nose, not TOO unique, but on its way to unique.
Flavor is good, comes through a little differently than the nose. Straight forward for the first part of the palate, a little bit of that zest, finishes quite late with the fruit and juicy flavors. Pretty nice beer here. It’s been a while since I’ve had a hazy, thank god, but I’m really enjoying this. It’s not trying to do too much like most hazies do, this still tastes like a beer.
Mouthfeel is spot on. Carbonation is medium. Body has some nice weight to it. Bitterness is somewhat low, not uncommon for the style. Very well balanced with sugars, especially for a hazy, not dry, but not as sweet as most.
Drinkabiltiy is very high. Tasty and easy to put down.
Appearance turned out very nice. Lacing is thick all the way down. Head eventually dissipated, but had relatively good retention.
Overall this is a great example of how to add ingredients like wheat, oats, and late hop additions without completely bastardizing beer. Tasty beer that tastes like beer.
