16oz can
Pours about a finger of white head into my british tulip glass, cause why not. Retention is below average, fades within a minute or so. Nice film left behind tho, with great initial lacing. Body is a somewhat dark shade of oj. Has potential.
Nose is pretty dank, citrus, noticeable mango & melon. Smells very good. Not extremely unique for the style, but it smells good, and maybe I'm just in the mood; it's been a while since I've had a hazy.
Definitely dank up front. Pretty bitter for a hazy, that's going to get bonus points for sure. A little juicy, but nothing coming through in a standout way, which is unfortunate. This is relatively straight forward, while I like the bitterness, it could be significantly more complex
Mouthfeel has a bit of a kick to it. Bitterness is quite high, definitely a noticeable sweetness as well. Carbonation is low, and the body is chewy as all hell. Very unique hazy - most hazies certainly aren't all that bitter with how popular dry hopping is; while many add sugar, they often don't come across as sweet as they could; same with the body, they all have a hefty malt bill but aren't always that thick. This beer is opposite the norm in every way. The verdict: I like how thick it is, and while the bitterness is assertive, I like that too. A tad too sweet though.
The drinkability is pretty good here. It's a tad sweet, but there is no alcohol. Not bad for 8.4 percent.
The appearance turned out very mediocre. Extremely inconsistent lacing all around. Head was sub par.
Overall a nice hazy. This is exactly how I expect most hazies to taste. This is good in some ways, bad in others.
