A very well-executed hi-test BBA stout, no additives to hide behind. Lightly vinous, with some redvines or twizzler vibes on the nose. Still a bit candied on the palate, but with a hint of chocolate, some raisins and plums in the mix. Good boozy heat if that's what you're looking for.

Smells like cookies, tollhouse morsels, dark fruit like raisins. Dark malt flavors, bourbon, pretty solid bourbon barrel stout here. Well worth the $20.

Appearance: Pours espresso brown with a one finger tan head that quickly fades to a ringlet; spotty lacing with a strand or two
Smell: Chocolate fudge and vanilla with Bourbon barrel tones
Taste: Chocolate fudge and Bourbon merge, on the front end, with vanilla and graham cracker; a hint of heat, in the mid-palate, along with some boozy elements; the finish is on the sweet side, with the vanilla and Bourbon lingering
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; considerable warmth in the gullet
Overall: After a disappointing experience with a two year old bottle of Hellshire VII, this one redeems itself; the beer is nicely balanced though it could use more complexity and heft for a 13% ABV
Thanks, mintyg8r, for the opportunity
