Poured into a fat tulip with a big head that didn't want to go anywhere. Light to medium hazy yellow with just a dash of orange. Strong bourbon and oak aroma. Surprisingly strong, letting just a little hop aroma get by. I don't know what it is, but to me there is a green apple like smell I also got form GI's BCS. That same apple-like quality was in the initial taste, along with bourbony oak. Hops lend a sort of peachy flavor with a mild citrus undercurrent. It sort of seemed a bit tropical to me, noting pineapple once in the taste. Not much strong malt flavor, but there is enough malt to keep the perceived bitterness low while not making the brew sweet. Creamy mouthfeel, almost milky. Insane drinkability; perfect body, perfect bitter/sweet balance, and didn't even seem alcoholic. Overall, a very unique brew, unlike anything I've had before.

On tap at the Belmont Station tasting. Pours a light orange with a huge head, nose is minimal until the head reduces and then reveals a pine and floral hop aroma. This beer has the taste of the bourbon barrel with pine-y hop notes more purely than any barrel aged beer I have had. It is like drinking bourbon without the alcohol burn. Amazing. I had a second glass ahead of other BA top 100 IPAs. Wow. Very very good. I hope to find this again. Very unique and memorable.
