On draught at Bailey's, De Hop-pho is clear golden yellow with a small, white head leaving big bubbled skim and tight, foamy lace.

Smell is estery yeast and floral hops. Tropical fruits. Nice brightness, but not pungent.

Taste is stronger on the hop bitterness than flavor, although the flowery notes are there as well. Plenty of yeast and fruit esters. Drying, clean alcohol character.

Mouthfeel is dry, slippery, medium-light bodied.

Drinkability is pretty high, a very nice Belgian IPA. I like the skew toward bittering hops - no normally, but it's appropriate for the style, and reminds me of Hommel.

Served on tap into a tulip glass

A- Poured a bright golden color, hazy, white fluffy head that left glass coating lace

S- Big bubblegum, banana, and clove notes.

T- Big dominant chalky yeasty notes, bubblegum, banana, and clove. Some bitterness, earthy, and slightly citrusy hops on the finish

M- Semi-dry, medium to full bodied, finishes a little watery

O- Some nice belgian golden ale notes, light on the hoppiness, and lots of dominant chalky yeast notes. Wish the yeastiness was toned down a little and the hop character more apparent for a belgian ipa.
