From 08/27/10 notes. Had on tap at The Shed in Vermont.

a - Pours a dark brown color with no head or carbonation evident.

s - Smells of coffee and roasted malts mostly. Not getting much else.

t - Tastes of coffee, roasted malts, and light vanilla. It seems a bit watered down.

m - Light body and low carbonation. Has a watery feel to it.

d - An average stout but kind of watered down and not too complex. Wouldn't seek out again.

Sampled on tap a the brewery in early May of '08. This brew was delivered to my table an opaque black with a thin tan head. Laced pretty well but the retention was lacking. Aromas were almost non-existent, sweet malt? The flavors were better, roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. The usual. Moderate mouthfeel and light carbonation. Really, just another stout.

On tap at the brewpub. Above average carbonation. Odd water here is noticeable in this one throwing the taste off. Wisp of head on black opaque. About average mouthfeel. Chocolate malt in the aroma, finally aroma. Sourish but also a bit of taste, whinish, until oddness wears you down.
