Off the tap this beer was a totally opaque black color with two fingers of dark, cork-colored head. The retention was quite good and the lacing acceptable. The aroma was sweet with sweet malt, candy sugar and hints of banana. The flavors were on par with a German dunkelweizen, caramel malt, caramelized sugar, a twang of wheat with hints of hazelnuts and Belgian yeast. Acidic and slightly tart. The mouthfeel was a little of the watery side, the body medium and the carbonation delicate. Quite enjoyable but sweet and acidic enough that I would not call it sessionable.
