Off tap at the brewery this beer was a clear maple color with one finger of khaki colored head. The retention as a skim was very good and the lacing good too. The aroma was light, a combination of toasted malt, caramel malt and wood. The flavors were quite similar with an added earthy element, some biscuity malt and a touch of must (which with the 'earth' was sort of clay-like). The nuttiness made it kind of tangy! The mouthfeel was a little watery, the body light/medium and carbonation ok. An odd beer, sort of like and Irish spin on a English Brown Ale.
