McCarthy's India Brown Ale

Off tap at the brewery this beer was a dark copper color with one finger of mocha-foam-colored head. The retention was so-so but the lacing off the head while it lasted was good. The aroma was pleasantly malty with a good note of bitterness from the hops. The flavors were constructed in a nice curve; sweet malt first hit me followed by roasted malt followed by a hard, hoppy finish. The finish was very bitter and herbal, twiggy almost and the only part of the beer I really didn't care for. Tough way to leave ones palette. The mouthfeel was good, the body medium/full and the carbonation good.
