On tap, pours slightly hazy. Low aroma, notes of pineapple and pine on the palate. I paired this with some live music. It made for a wonderful evening!

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Medium golden color, small skin of tight head. Lemons, pine, lavender on the aroma. Taste features some dank notes, very mild, kind of like hand soap or Jujubes. Smoky, earthy, funky finish.

12oz bottle poured into a Sam Adams PP. Pours mostly clear gold with some sediment apparent and a small off-white-ish head. Lots of hoppy sweetness and a malty/bready undertone, with notes of pineapple and piney resin, some herbaceous qualities, with that bready malt sweetness coming through and competing with the piney bitterness. There are definitely some citrus notes as well, orange and grapefruit. Super drinkable body, refreshing and light.

its been awhile since i have seen any double mountain on tap here in idaho, so i was excited to stumble on this one, a pretty classically styled ipa, unfiltered looking more than purposely hazy, a high inch of lasting head from the tap, plenty of bubbles. it smells and tastes the same, which is to say hoppy all the way through and without too much grain interference, just the lightest toasted crystal malt thing behind all the hops, which have a pine leaning profile overall, but also dont seem overly pungent to me, at least not in a dry hopped sense, this is balanced almost like a pale ale, and even though its a bit bitter to finish, its not such an intensely flavored ipa as has become fashionable these days. just a little honey sweetness through it, a nice oily texture and linger on the tongue from the hops, hints of dried grass, bitter orange peel and pith, and fresh pine. nothing really at all from the yeast, pretty clean there, good carbonation. i have kind of come to expect more robust and unique beer from double mountain, but more than anything i know them for quality, and this is well executed even if its somewhat more conservative than many of their brews. it didnt taste overly fresh to me either, but with the pandemic and all some of that can be forgiven. i will revisit this one next chance i get, but for now its a pretty basic ipa, well made but largely unexciting...

Thanks to elrogish for bringing this out summer of 2018.

Pours a golden yellow color familiar to most of the beer world. Smallish 1/4" white head. The aroma went in on the classic geographical hops, rind and pine baby, all day. There is the commercial tug job getting at Mosaic, but this had a more classic aroma than it did tropical fruit and dank hop notes.

Taste kept up the same notes in the nose for me, good amount of citrus rind pushing forward, getting more diverse, both grapefruit and orange are showing up. Had a more concentrated bitterness as if there was Simcoe. Dry west coast malt leanings, that is to say minimalistic and as neutral as possible. Carbonation was good, beer was zesty. Had more bitterness than a lot of recent ipas do, this one was reaching for the stars landing around 80ibu.

This was a 500ml bottle. Didn't see a freshness date on it. Seemed like something reliable if not inspiring.

Nice floral and pine aromas.
Taste similar but with much more bitter resinous hop in the end.
Nice well carbonated mouth feel..semi dry finish.

Nice looking beer. Light golden amber, a bit hazy, dense and solid head with great retention. No dominate aroma profile here...just a down the middle IPA hops. We like their taste profile. Not trying too hard to be one thing or the other, just aiming at being a solid offering. Clean finish, no rough edges.

Clear gold with two fingers of white head that lasts about ten minutes. Rings of lace as the head falls.
Smell is fruity hops with some pine.
Taste is fruity piney hops with a good malt base.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with good carbonation. The finish is dry and medium bitter.
Overall a fine West Coast IPA. Yumm!

Hop Lion is a good clarity brass color on the edge of light amber. An almost white head is foamy with exceptional retention and lacing.

Very citrus forward aromas of orange, grapefruit, and tangerine are followed by wet pine needles and a little bit of simple syrup sweeter.

Seemless transition from aroma to flavor, and for once the flavor is even more intense. Citrus orchard and an evergreen forest converge and balance dominance over whole grain cereal. There is even a touch of pepper in the end.

Hop Lion is highly carbonated giving it a tingly feel that only seems to increase its dryness and bitterness. It's remarkably easy to drink.

A well done and classic west coast style IPA. Glad to see this in six packs finally. Definitely worth revisiting, and probably a regular (at least for summer) purchase. Cheers.
