Stop, collaborate and listen: This IPA is full and ripe with deep citrus and earthy forest additions. Lactose is added in the boil to round out the balance, and keep things smooth and juicy. Conspired with our friends just down the river in Astoria, Fort George Brewing.

Had this beer at the 2017 OBF. I like both these breweries but don't really remember this beer. I just gave it an average rating. 75 IBUs

500 ml bottle - pours slightly hazy golden orange with aroma of muted pine, orange, caramel malt. Taste of citrus, caramel malt, mild hoppiness. Slightly thin mouthfeel - limited bitterness. Ok but not great especially for price.

The aroma is pleasing. The color is real nice golden amber. The taste is interesting and for me got better as I drank more of it although I'm not really a fan. While others taste the citrus I don't really get much of a taste of any fruit here just malt and hops and a lingering bitterness. Glad I tried it but wouldn't buy more.

32 oz crowler- Pours light to medium hazy with a thick white head that reduces leaving a blanket and layered lace. Aroma is citrusy, pine sap, grassy and lemony. The taste is lemon, citrusy, moderately sweet with a lingering light bitterness. Not sure if they just couldn't quite get there or if this what they were going for, but it sort of bridges the gap between East and West coast style IPA. It is good though.

Does not work for me. The combination of flavors is just awful.

Golden yellow in the big tulip with a pile of coarse white foam. Aroma of fresh cut honeydew melon. Light body, but a little oily. Crisp and moderately acidic. What is that hop? And why lactose is added, though the swet undertone is maybe what some of these acidic IPAs have been needing.
Flavors of passionfruit and Casaba melon. Some grapefruit peel at the finish but not overly bitter. Man, is this ever good. A new favorite in the crowded IPA category. More good evidence that both of these breweries are in the groove. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham, Wash.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a one finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel and pale malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops, lemon, grapefruit and guava, maybe some light pineapple. Flavor is pale, lightly caramel malt, citrus hops, mixed light tropical fruit, lemon, grapefruit, mild hints of light stone fruit and lactose. Finishes moderately hoppy and nice residual mixed fruit flavors. Medium bodied with pleasant creaminess, nice mouth feel. A flavorful IPA that lives up to its Hop Shake moniker; it has a creamy mouthfeel and good fruit flavors. The profile reminds me of a midwestern style IPA due to the good hop fruit flavors and moderate hop bitterness, which is a little odd because of the "A River Runs Through It" name, which is classically Northwest. No matter, a flavorful IPA with a pleasant mixture of hop fruit character.
