On tap at Overlook brewpub. Another one that pours a golden color, a little hazier than expected. It has a good malt backbone and a floral hop taste, it's a little different. decent beer, nothing special. 58 IBUs Rated 9-2-2023

 

feeling thankful to have scored this on tap here in idaho, plenty of double mountain around the stores but rarely the bars. this is balanced like a pale ale, drinks more like that, is super fresh to me, and is made interesting not so much by its hop complexion but by the grain profile, a nice almost european malt vibe to this, a little light sweetness and toasted depth, an english crystal, a maris otter, even maybe a light vienna note, all somewhat subtle, but a lot more happening here than the typical pale two row and white wheat that is the norm these days. the hops are not generic but are very familiar, floral and pollen aspects to the nose with a little orange peel, more dank in the flavor, with some pine resin and grapefruit juiciness on the back end, middle of the road bitterness, faint finishing sweetness, and a very tidy ferment, professional execution as is to be expected from these guys. light weed character, sweet orange, a mosaic pineapple thing, peaches, and even dried mango, somewhat subtle, but it opens up a lot as it warms. a really nicely done, no frills ipa here with some nice malt presence. i could have drank these all night, double mountain always hits!

500ml bottle poured into a pub nonic. Clear gold with a large off-white head. A very nice, more traditional IPA with a malty, crisp body and snappy, grassy flavors of lemon and earthy pine. Moderate bitterness thats light and lingering, with a clean light body.

 

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a one finger white head that dissipates to a thick film with light lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, tropical fruit and
mildly citrus hops, orange, mixed tropical fruit, pineapple and mild stone fruit. Flavor is pale malt with some dry biscuit, citrus hops, grapefruit, lemon, vague mixed tropical fruit. Moderate citrus rind bitterness in finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. Crisp and citrusy, the aroma was quite different from the taste, which is more like a pale ale in malt. Refreshing.
