Look: Cloudy and a medium dull yellow with a quick-forming head that rises to the rim, almost spilling over, and settles, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Freshly cut and juiced grapefruit, sticky pine sap, orange flesh and zest, some fruity Cannabis, fresh hop cones, strawberries, and bready malt
Taste: Whoa. Opens up with a blend of ripe and freshly cut orange and grapefruit that hit hard as a blend, but with grapefruit rising to the top and these hold for a moment before being joined by a literal fresh hop cone salad. Pithy and resinous hop oils coat the tongue as pine follows for the knockout punch. A little strawberry and dank peek in and out but this is a big-time citrus and hop flavor bomb throughout. Closes with a delectably sharp bite
Mouthfeel: Full, slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and moderately dry on the finish
Overall: This is a fantastic fresh hop beer. I’ve never had the non-FH version of this but try Killer Red & Green each year and any one-offs these folks make so dove in and was rewarded. Tons of fresh hop character in it and one of usually a handful of fresh hop IPAs each season that have that “literally chewing on fresh cones” flavor going on. Not for the weak of heart or palate, but tasty as hell and recommended
