I spend so much time looking everywhere for that elusive "greatest beer" that I forget to look locally for the potential of coming across it in my own backyard. Though this brew might not be the greatest ever, for me it sure does come close.
Out of the glass it pours an almost black but appealing color with tan, puffy head and great lacing down the glass. The odor is a beautiful mix of sweet caramel, milk, light hints of chocolate, and strong hints of coffee - truly superb. The mouthfeel is at first very carbonated, but it dissipates quickly to reveal a smooth, silky finish on the tongue. Though I did not taste any of the caramel, I did get strong tastes on the chocolate and coffee, and the overall sweetness - not overpowering, but just there.
This is truly and exceptional brew, I'm so glad I looked locally today (finally) and I guess I will continue to do so (now that I know better in the days to come.)

Had one out of the bottle. Very smooth feel and taste and easy to drink. Came in a beer of the month shipment. Very mild flavor and enjoyable.

Poured into a Reuben's Brew small snifter. Pours pitch black with a fine two finger light brown head with great retention and tons of lacing, looks nice. Aroma of sweet dark malt, cocoa, hints of vanilla and lactose. Flavor follows, with sweet dark malt with malt toast, cocoa, vanilla and lactose, finishes with a mild bitterness and slight lactic tartness. Medium bodied with a surprising light creaminess. A nice mild stout that exceeded my expectations, a bit on the sweet side, but as advertised. The look and body were quite nice, with an oatmeal-like feel, although this is not listed on the bottle. Fairly straightforward, but tasty and easy to drink.
