Found this little beauty completely by accident. Being a huge scotch ale fan, i find that in Quebec a good scotch ale is hard to find!
This one though is a bullseye!!! I mean rich mohagony color with a hint of red accents, an aroma of caramel, toffee and chocolate. In mouth, a generously sweet toffee-caramel taste that makes you roll in around for awhile just like a caramel candy ... and at the end a touch of malt and hobb. This one is definitly in my top 3 scotch ales ever, well balanced it keeps a shy little foam layer that hangs on almost 'til the end... and the more it takes room temperature, the more intense the aroma becomes... spectacular!!!

Mahoghany brown in color; a little bit of light shines through the glass edge. Good start with the head, but not much lace is left on the glass.
This beer doesn't have the typical sweetness of a Scotch ale, but it does have the aroma of dark chocolate, which shows in the taste as well. The taste has a "touch" of sweetness. Still, I'd say this is the driest Scotch ale I've ever had. Some light hop. The body is appropriate.
This is one of my favorites from their series at the brewpub, but it isn't the classic style of a Scotch Ale.
