Mayflower Bohemian Pilsner is a light and crisp lager, brewed entirely with floor malted Bohemian pilsner, a light and bready malt. The wort was generously hopped entirely with Saaz, contributing a crisp bitterness and a spicy slightly floral aroma. The water in Plymouth is very soft, which is imperative when brewing this delicate style. We think you will have a hard time having just one pint of this incredibly refreshing beer.

The appearance was a thin yellow color with the expected transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. Rapidly dissipating fingers worth of white foamy head. Spotty sliding lace. The aroma had some stiff grassy hops, slight pepper, dried leaves and a touch of biscuits. The flavor had a mellow sweet to light spicy contour rolling along my tastebuds with a touch of that biscuity smoothness to even it all out in the aftertaste to follow through in the finish. The palate was just above light bodied with a fantastic sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good, non-distracting. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, for me at least, I thought this was a very nicely done Czech pilsener that I would love to have again.

Served on tap at Bukowski's in Boston.

Straw color with some chill haze. Small, quickly dying head but it leaves ample spots and an initial ring of lace.

Very mild nose. I get pale unmalted barley grain and some malt. Nearly no hop nose.

Light creamy malt start with a dash of raw grain. The swallow draws out the hop but it isn't nearly as floral as a true Czech Pils. It's much more straight up bitterness. The finish brings back some of the malt. The body is decent and the carbonation accurate for the style.
