Deep, dark brown where no light passes. Lasting beige head but any lace slides back into the foam.
First impression is of wet cardboard. To bad # because the semisweet chocolate smell is attractive.
Served from a Cask and is appropriately cool (warm for the uninitiated). Very rich body with a diminutive carbonation level. There are milk cocoa flavors. No coffee touches, which is a personal preference of mine. Overall, if you get by the off smell, this is a great beer.
