Boomerang is a refreshing pale ale with an unfiltered appearance that pours light gold in color. The beer is built on pale, and wheat malts with oats for a pillowy mouthfeel. Boomerang features Galaxy hops in the whirlpool with a healthy dry-hopped dose of Galaxy and Ella. Notes of pineapple, lemon, and floral dominate making this beer approachable for your every day drinking.

Hazy ale 6% with great head and it retains.
On the nose it is a little piney and earthy. Pleasant.
Taste is not much on the front, hoppy bitterness at the back and it is light and refreshing.
Nothing spectacular.

A: Pours a hazy pale to medium golden honey in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate bright orange + pale golden yellow + bright yellow + apricot colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of herbal, citrus/grapefruit zest, and spicy hops over the top of light aromas of bready + pale + biscuit malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness.
T: Upfront there a light flavors of bready + pale + biscuit malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of herbal, citrus/grapefruit zest, and spicy hops which impart a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Very light amounts of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Very enjoyable and somewhat of a throwback style of beer which I really enjoy. Definitely worth grabbing and a beer I would definitely enjoy having again.

I am a fan of American Pale Ale and I like most of the artful renditions of it that I have tried, and this is one of the best. Being a New Englander, I compare most brew to local brews rather than looking farther afield. Yet, I can say with certainty that I much prefer the New England take on APA to the brews I have had from Sierra Nevada and Stone. My immediate comparison for Boomarang would be to Whaler's Rise APA. These two are substantially different yet they compete for the same spot in my heart. Where the aroma of Rise make one think about iPA, the aroma of Boomarang suggests heavy duty lager, where Rise is juicy Boomarang is crisp, where the malt lingers with Rise, the not particularly bitter hops linger on with Boomarang, where Rise is amber Boomarang is golden. I love both. I readily and happily order Rise when nothing else piques my curiosity or it is simply what I want. But, given a choice between the two on a nice summer evening like today, I would choose Boomarang.

A: cloudy; medium gold in color; with a fairly aggressive pour, a 1 finger white head that receded to a wispy cap; nice lacing;
S: herbal - cilantro and parsley;
T: subdued; almost nothing up front; what kicks in is like parsley; a hint of lemon toward the end; mild to moderate bitterness on the finish;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: a VERY different take on the style;

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Long Ridge Wine and Spirits for about twelve dollars. Have had many brews from these guys before. This was a miss for me, I found the taste odd. I think I am not a fan of the ella hops.

Boomerang is a good example of why it's fun to always be trying the new IPAs and Pale Ales that come out, it's a fantastic beer. It's got a nice nose, but it's really the flavor that is spot on, exceedingly drinkable, a beautiful beer!
