So I set this as a German Hefeweizen on here but after further analysis, I am left a bit perplexed.
Here's my observations, obviously poured into a weizen glass, the appearance was more of a bronzed copper color with a subtle transparency about it. Yet, the two and a half fingers of full foaminess sat atop and slid off at a fairly slow pace. Modest lace ran around the top of the glass somewhat messy but sticky and substantial.
The aroma had some bubblegum sweetness up front then the banana then the clove, didn't seem as interwoven as I wanted it to. Still, some bready/biscuit/vanilla tones muscled through on into the bubblegum character.
The flavor absolutely leaned towards the sweet side enveloping all of the prior mentioned aromas except the clove which now barely rears it's head. Aftertaste is barely there, maybe some bubblegum/banana.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a clean sessionability about it. Carbonation felt appropriate. Definitely finishes with some bubblegum, banana and vanilla sweet stickiness.
Overall, I'm leaving this as a German Hefeweizen on BA but if someone changes it to American Pale Wheat ale, well, I'm not arguing. Still, I could come back to this - for other reasons.
