Our latest release in our Resistance is Fruitile sour series features apricot and peach. This bright and breezy sour ale checks in at 5% and is ready to bring a happy effervescence to the harvest season! The beer pours an inviting color of peach jam or marmalade. Copious amounts of wheat in the mash, and a high level of carbonation, lead to a tall and frothy head that stands up for a few minutes before chasing down the side of the glass. Wheat aroma dominates initially but as the beer warms, and sips are taken, the nuanced smell of peach and apricot start poking through. The same flavors should dance lightly on the back of your palate. You’ll be transported to an early season stone fruit orchard picking and enjoying fruit while standing among the trees. Just the right amount of tart, this medium bodied beer pairs well with a citrus salad. Or simply enjoy with friends in the waning warm weather days of fall!

Canned 9/24/19

Pours like a hazed out pineapple juice, relatively no head

Aromas of big fruit skin, light lacto funk with some citrus like hops

The taste takes the aroma and turns it up to 10, all sour fruit in the front end, eventually turning into a nice berry sweetness. Seems like there’s some lime going on here playing with the malt base to keep the balance

Some realllllly strong carbonation, nice light body and finishes dry with some residual sweetness

I wasn’t too hopeful from the pour and the aroma, but damn this is a well done sour, could definitely throw down more than a few of these in the summer

Can poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a fairly burnt ruddy yellow/orange bronzed color with a finger and a half's worth of white foamy head that slid off to leave a wispy concave lace. The lace slid with the sips.
The aroma had a ton of peaches and apricots colliding into each other for a wonderful tart to sweet and subtle sour skin-like character. Some grassy and lemon tart juiciness roams underneath.
The flavor melded all of those prior mentioned aromas together sour and tart with plenty of sweetness for balance. Slight apricot jammy sweetness with less peach in the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with an in between sort of quality of being sessionable and being a sipper. Good carbonation, some stickiness but acceptable. Semi-juicy finish with appropriate tart to sweet peachy and apricot balance.
Overall, another awesome fruited sour in this series, looking forward to Mayflower's next one in this series despite me not always going for the sours this time of year. Would love to have this again preferably next Summer.
