Crispy Business is a crisp, smooth, and dry Kölsch-style ale that pours straw gold in color. Its bready malt profile is well-balanced by traditional German hops that provide mild bittering and a delicate and pleasant aroma of apple and pear.

Picked up a single can at Curtis Liquors in Cohasset, Massachusetts for about four dollars. My thirtieth brew from these guys. Canned on date of 3/14/25. Solid.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden straw color with a big two finger head of thick puffy white foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, fading over time and leaving a bit of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of a grainy smell mixed with notes of doughiness and some wheat. Along with these smells comes a touch of sweet caramel and a bit of pear and apricot.
Taste – The taste begins with a grainy and slightly sweet caramel mixed with notes of toasted bread and a bit of cracker malt. As the taste advances the sweet gets a bit stronger as the caramel increases and is joined by a bit of pear, leaving one with a grainy and lightly sweetened taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a higher carbonation level. For the style the feel is great and makes for a clean easy sipper.
Overall – A rather easy drinking, flavorful and nice sipper. A pretty nice pils overall.

16oz can, wine glass, canned 7/13/22.

Light gold with light haze, the color is very nice and the head is just as nice, a rocky white affair.

Cardboard, hop oil, leafy, lemon oil.

Very light crisp malts and herbal oily hops sums it up. It’s light so it checks that box for a Kölsch.

I’m pretty indifferent to the style and this is a nice beer.

It looks like it should very slight turbidity, fairly light golden color. Nice, tight head that sticks and falls to a thick, creamy cap.

The smell is clean malts, maybe a whiff of white grape, floral and spicy hops. Slightly sweet, but becomes very hop heavy as it warms.

...and then the wheels kinda fall off. The taste opens malty followed quickly by citrus, spiciness, oily resinous hops and that's the issue. I know the style can have significant hop flavors and bitterness, but this in my opinion is massively over-hopped. The bitterness accumulates to an unpleasant bilous level, and the spicy kick briefly gets to smack upside the head territory. Oily resin adds to the non-fun going on. The hops simply become unpleasantly dominant, creating an imbalanced brew. Disappointed because the initial swig gave me hope...

Feel - light, very dry, massive and unpleasant bitter. The aftertaste lingers...lots and its not delightful.

So...looks good, smells ok, taste good initially then the whole thing derails into what I think is an overly hopped, imbalanced mess. Not even close to being representative of the style.

Had on tap. Pours clear, gold in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is citrus hops and white bread. Medium bodied and carbonation, slightly bitter. Perfectly inoffensive but there are better kolschs out there.

Dirty blond, cloudy color. Nice floral, tropical aroma. Nice tropical, slightly sweet taste, but enough bitterness to avert being cloying. Slightly sweet, but clean finish, calls for another taste. Very nice despite its appearance.

Pours a clear yellow color with a light bodied white colored head that laces the glass a bit on the way down. Smells of sweet toasted malts and crispy hops. Tastes of sweet lightly toasted malts, hints of piney hops at the end. Super light, crispy, refreshing, perfect amount of carbonation. Overall a very good kolsch.

Found this one to an average kolsch. Is crisp as advertised but this one to be a bit off normal straw flavored template, does live up to crisp naming.
