Pours gold. Foamy, medium, white head that fades slowly to a cap with light lacing.

Smells malty, grain and hint of fruit.

Tastes sweet bready malt, light grain and a hint of fruit. Finish is semi dry with a grainy and bready linger. Medium body and fizzy lower medium carbonation.

16oz can poured into a pilsner glass
A: Pale golden color with a thin head and light carbonation
S: Corn, pale wheat, cereal grains, maybe the lightest hint of hops
T: Matches the nose; light, very grain-forward
M: Light-bodied, crisp
O: Tastier than most in this style, I could see it making a good tailgate beer over the macros and a nice intro to an independent producer but I don't see myself drinking it with any regularity

Rivertowne Pourhouse "Always A Home Game"
16 fl. oz. can, no production code or freshness dating
$2.00 @ The Beer Shoppe, Ardmore, PA

Always A Home Game pours a hazy yellow gold body beneath a full-sized head of bright white that fades steadily down into nothing more than a fine ring around the glass. Lacing, as you might expect, is next to nothing.

The aroma offers lots of apple and soft grain. In many ways it's like apple cider - don't take that in the wrong way. It's malty and sweetish with only a suggestion of hops. A low level bitterness keeps it from becoming sweet, but some sweetish malt does linger in the finish shortly. For some reason I also keep thinking it's got a drop of vanilla to it.

Not bad, but not great.

Appearance: very light amber color, little to no head retention. Very cloudy.
Smell: Very sweet smell, not unlike apples or pineapples. Very light, almost no alcohol smell.
Taste: Very light, sweet taste. Very smooth, but no strong flavors. No distinctive aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Not overly carbonated. Feels fresh on the tongue.
Overall: A slightly above average beer that is easily enjoyable.
