Golden yellow in color with a 1/2 inch of froth. Smells of citrus and lemon with camomile reminding me of a mild tea. Taste does incorporate this with a splash of honey which is not overly sweet complimenting this red ale. Body is a bit light and watery again reminding me of a tea despite the 5.3% ABV
Overall an interesting ale for sure but nothing to really revisit. Really wanted more honey sweetness to tell you the truth.

I purchased this can at Grain & Verse, enjoyed in a goblet chilled
The color is a medium honey amber with mild haze and thick cream with fine bead and very good retention with lace that sticks. The smell is very nice - lots of honey aroma with a floral quality and herbal scent. The feel has a slight sweet honey texture on the tip of the tongue with a medium body and moderately high carbonation with medium sweetness and semi-dry finish.
The taste is very good - I like the way the honey is the first taste with a mild herbal contribution from the chamomile that gives a subtle lozenge impression with a mild hop spice and gentle toast in the malt flavor with a semi-dry finish. Overall I think this is better than I expected since the honey is prominent but not overly sweet -the contribution of chamomile is mild but it all works together for a satisfying standard strength brew.

A charity beer (for the PGH Zoo) that is billed as an "amber" ale, but carries many more characteristics of an American Blonde. It's golden yellow in color with decent head. Aroma is mainly straw yeast & mild malt with a romantic dash of chamomile. That ingredient carries over well to the tongue, bringing elements of vanilla root & a floral / lavender note. The base beer is pretty generic but I felt the chamomile gave it a nice, relaxing summertime pop. I'm not huge on Rivertowne but thought this was one of their better beers, hopefully they make it more readily available.
