Glad I waited they want 4.75 for a pour of this at the Pourhouse! It's only $3.50 for a single at the notoriously overpriced House of 1,000 beers.

A - Clear bright amber yellow color with a 1/2 inch of frothy head that takes a while to dissipate.
S - Much more tropical and citrus forward than the standard IPA which I enjoy. Sweet and fruity.
T - Much more timid than I expected especially the hops which are only slightly bitter but are mostly tropical and pair well with the gram cracker malts.
M - Smooth and quite drinkable medium bodied brew.

Overall I have surely had less balanced DIPA's but this one is quite good one of the better ones for sure and probably only 40 bucks for the case makes it quite the deal.

Can > Tulip Glass

A - Clear gold with a big two finger foamy white head, thick lacing.
S - Slightly astringent pine and grapefruit, orange, sweeter malts.
T - Pretty basic, caramel malt, pine and citrus dominates the hop profile.
M - Chewy, and you definitely feel the alcohol burn here
O - Decent, but average double IPA

The Slhoppy Monster has a dull, golden-orange colored body and a tan head. Retention is fairly good, lacing is scrappy.

The aroma has lots of juicy, fruity hops that pair with a good bit of sweet, caramel malt.

Lots of hops lead off, with pineapple, orange hints of lemon and grapefruit providing lots of juicy hop flavors with an edge of bitterness following. Next comes a large dose of sweet, caramel malts that are not equally as powerful as the hops, but quite strong. As IIPAs go, this one is too sweet for me, but not badly done.

Medium bodied with carbonation that makes the feel nice and creamy.

Tons of fruit and a considerable amount of malt make this one really fruity and sweet, which isn't what I look for in my IIPAs, but I could see it being a winner for someone else.

This is Rivertowne's and Andrew Maxwell's result from Scott Smith from East End's happy accident of ordering too much fresh hops: A wet-hopped double IPA. Picked up a growler from the brewpub.

A - Pours slightly flat out of the growler, however there is a late rising head of dense off-white foam. The color is a deep caramel bronze color, nice and clear.

S - Juicy, sweet aroma of pineapple and orange citrus hops paired with sweet caramel malt. Hoppy aroma of fresh green grass provides a nice secondary contrast aroma.

T - A tale of two flavors. Not so much balanced, but a duel between a big juicy in your face malt backbone and the spiciness of the fresh hops. Brown sugar, orange, and pineapple battle forces with grapefruit peel and spicy black pepper.

M - Even with the overall lack of carbonation in the growler, there is still a healthy spritz to go with the juicy hop oiliness. A slight spicy burn on the finish.

D - Fresh hops pushed over the edge. A balanced, but aggressive DIPA, where the wet hopping really gives it life. Alcohol is almost a non-factor, even at 9.2%abv
