On tap at the Pourhouse in Monroeville.
A: Pours a nice dark red almost brownish color. Provies an off white foam head that dissipates to a film. Some lacing.
S: The scent is a little less than expected but there is a decent amount of rye malt and peppery spice.
T: There is an ample amount of rye malt and caramel and bready malts throughout the tasting. The spice is most prevalent on the backend.
M: Leaves a gritty spicy taste on the palate.
D: A very nice Rye beer offering. This is a really nice beer for a fall afternoon.

Review from notes taken yesterday at the brewpub.
This brew appears a clear dark amber color with a creamy offwhite head. A wall of lace appears and sticks along the glassware. The nose of this brew is a malty mix of caramel-like sweetness and a spiced kick of rye that is subtle in the background. The flavor of this brew is like caramelized sugars only without the sweetness backed by the spice of rye. This brew is medium bodied and lightly carbonated.
Overall it is an enjoyable brew with a nice contrast of malt sweetness to bittering hops. As it warms there is an increasing amount of the alcohol character coming through with a nice warming quality in the back of the throat.
