Rivertowne's RX Pils-ner has bright, completely clear, golden body. The white head is a little over a finger tall and very creamy and substantial looking. Retention is very good, and some thin lacing stays behind.
The aroma is packed with saaz hops, filling my nose with lemon and lemongrass lemon grass. Pale malt lurks behind the hops, adding a grainy aroma.
Just like the aroma, Rx Pils-ner's flavor is straight forward, but very good. The hops are definitely the main attraction here, with tons of saaz providing flavors of lemongrass, lemon, hints of earthy flavors and a moderate bitterness. The pilsner malt adds just a bit of bready sweetness, but it mostly brings a clean, grainy flavor. The malt is just a backbone, the hops are the main attraction.
Mouthfeel is light and highly carbonated.
I'm a sucker for a good pilsner, especially a good czech pilsner, and this one is no exception. I tour through a pint of this and could easily drink it all night, but I wanted to try other Rivertowne beers.
